You have a position open and IC Markets blocked is what you are seeing — or you typed icmarkets.com as usual and got “This site can’t be reached”. IC moved its website to ic.com in July 2026, so the error may come from the old address, from DNS, or from the network. This guide covers how to access IC Markets in Chrome and on mobile, and helps you work out the cause when you cannot access IC Markets without logging in on a fake site by mistake.

Why Is IC Markets Blocked? A 30-Second Diagnosis

When IC Markets blocked appears, or the website simply errors, do not jump to the conclusion that a provider has blocked the broker. IC moved from icmarkets.com to ic.com; an old link, a cached DNS record, the network you are on and a temporary website incident can all produce identical symptoms. Try opening ic.com directly, then compare the result over Wi-Fi and mobile data.

IC Markets Rebranded To IC And Moved To ic.com

According to IC’s domain migration announcement, ic.com became the new website after the transition on 11 July 2026. IC states that clients continue using their existing accounts, platforms and products. So if icmarkets.com errors while ic.com opens normally, update your bookmark before you touch any DNS setting.

A rebrand does not by itself establish which legal entity serves your account. To check the entity, the trading conditions or the licences, cross-reference the client area and our IC Markets review.

Use this table to narrow down the cause, not to confirm that a particular provider is blocking the domain. A DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN message is not proof of blocking either: a mistyped address or a temporary DNS record can produce exactly the same thing.

Signs The Problem Is DNS

If you cannot access IC Markets over Wi-Fi, turn Wi-Fi off and try ic.com on mobile data. Then try a different browser on the same network. One network failing is a reason to check that network’s DNS; Chrome alone failing is a reason to check Chrome’s settings and cache first.

You can also open Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 connection test. That page shows whether the browser is using Cloudflare’s resolver, but it is not a tool for confirming that IC Markets is being blocked by a provider.

What Does Change Chrome DNS To 1.1.1.1 Do, And When Does It Help?

What it means to change Chrome DNS to Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and when it actually helps
Chrome uses Secure DNS to encrypt the query; 1.1.1.1 is the primary resolver and 1.0.0.1 the backup.

DNS is how the browser finds the server address for the domain you typed. With secure DNS on and Cloudflare selected, Chrome sends its DNS queries to that provider. If the fault lies in your current network’s name resolution, to change Chrome DNS to 1.1.1.1 may bring the page back. If the website is under maintenance, the address is wrong, or the connection is failing at some other point, changing DNS may not help. Cloudflare publishes 1.1.1.1 setup guides for each device type.

How Is Secure DNS Different From Ordinary DNS?

Chrome’s “Use secure DNS” feature sends DNS queries over an encrypted connection to the provider you choose. You configure it inside the browser without editing the whole machine’s configuration. That setting applies mainly to Chrome, though: a desktop trading application may continue using the operating system’s resolver.

If you are troubleshooting the same thing at another broker, see XM blocked and how to access it with DNS 1.1.1.1.

Is Changing DNS The Same As Using A VPN?

No. Changing DNS in Chrome is not intended to change your IP address and does not automatically route your trading traffic through an intermediate server. If you have an open position, check the connection status and the quotes separately in MT4, MT5 or cTrader. A website that will not open does not prove that the trading servers have lost connection. The same approach applies when HFM is blocked.

How To Access IC Markets: Enable DNS 1.1.1.1 In Chrome In 5 Steps

How to access IC Markets by enabling Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1 in Chrome in 5 steps
How to access IC Markets: Settings → Privacy and security → Security → Use secure DNS → Cloudflare (1.1.1.1).

Here is how to access IC Markets when you suspect Chrome is hitting a DNS error. Menu names vary slightly by browser language and version; Cloudflare’s own walkthrough confirms the path Settings → Privacy and security → Security → Use secure DNS → Cloudflare (1.1.1.1).

If you would rather watch it done first, the video below walks through reaching a website when the connection is being blocked:

How to reach a website when the connection is blocked — Backcom Insight.

Step 1: Open Chrome Settings

Change Chrome DNS step 1: open the three-dot menu in the top right and choose Settings
Step 1: click the three-dot menu in the top right, then choose Settings.

Click the three-dot icon in the top right and choose Settings. You can also type chrome://settings/security into the address bar to open the Security section directly.

Step 2: Go To Privacy And Security → Security

Change Chrome DNS step 2: choose Privacy and security, then click Security
Step 2: open Privacy and security in the left menu, then click Security.

Scroll down to the area containing the secure DNS option, under Privacy and security → Security.

Step 3: Turn On “Use Secure DNS”

Change Chrome DNS step 3: switch on Use secure DNS under the Advanced section
Step 3: scroll to Advanced and switch on Use secure DNS.

If the toggle is locked or cannot be edited, the device may be under an organisation’s management or control policy. In that case use a personal device or connection where you are allowed to change settings.

Step 4: Choose “With” → Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)

This is the main action when you change Chrome DNS to 1.1.1.1. If Cloudflare is not in the list but Chrome allows a custom provider, use the DoH address https://cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query.

Step 5: Open A New Tab And Type ic.com Directly

Do not start from an old bookmark pointing at icmarkets.com. If the page still errors, reload it and move on to the troubleshooting section below.

Google documents this option in its Chrome security help. Check the domain shown in the address bar before you enter a password, even when the page opened after a redirect.

Check Whether DNS 1.1.1.1 Is Actually Working

Open Cloudflare’s official test page in the same Chrome you just configured. Read the lines about the connection to 1.1.1.1 and DNS over HTTPS; results can differ between the browser and the device-wide DNS configuration. If the page shows Chrome is not using Cloudflare, go back to steps 3–4, confirm the choice was saved, then open a new tab and retry.

Changing the resolver is only one diagnostic step. If the test page says you are connected but ic.com still will not open, do not keep switching DNS — look for a different cause.

Change DNS 1.1.1.1 On Android And iPhone

Change DNS 1.1.1.1 on Android and iPhone to access IC Markets more reliably
Android has a device-wide Private DNS setting; on iPhone you change DNS under Wi-Fi.

To access IC Markets from a phone, first try ic.com over Wi-Fi and then over mobile data. If only one connection fails, changing DNS at the device level can help more than a Chrome-only setting — especially if you also use the IC Markets app or another trading app.

On Android

On Android 9 and later, go to Settings → Network and internet → Private DNS, choose the private DNS provider hostname option and enter one.one.one.one. Menu names vary by manufacturer. Android’s Private DNS applies at device level, including mobile data, per Cloudflare’s Android guide.

If you only want to change it inside the browser, look for secure DNS in Chrome for Android’s privacy settings and select a listed provider. After the change, reopen ic.com and test the app. If the phone is on a corporate network or has a connection management app, the organisation’s settings may take priority.

On iPhone

For a specific Wi-Fi network, go to Settings → Wi-Fi → the (i) icon next to the active network → Configure DNS → Manual, then enter 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. Note the old settings first so you can restore them. This applies only to the Wi-Fi network you edited and does not change DNS for mobile data.

If you need it across several connections, look at the 1.1.1.1 app from Cloudflare’s official listing. Check which mode is active before relying on it, because DNS 1.1.1.1 and WARP affect the connection in different ways.

Still Cannot Access IC Markets? 5 Things To Try Next

Still cannot access IC Markets after changing DNS: 5 fixes covering cache, networks, another resolver, the website and support
Cannot access IC Markets even with the correct ic.com address and secure DNS on: work through these five directions.

If you still cannot access IC Markets after typing ic.com correctly and turning on secure DNS, work through the following in order. The goal is to find out whether the fault is the browser, the network, the website or the account — and each step is only worth doing when the symptom matches.

1. Flush The DNS Cache And Update Old Bookmarks

On Windows, open Command Prompt and run ipconfig /flushdns. In Chrome you can open chrome://net-internals/#dns and choose Clear host cache if your version still offers it. Close the failing tab, open a new one and type ic.com again.

If you are still arriving via an icmarkets.com bookmark, fix the bookmark once you have confirmed the new address. If Chrome keeps going to an old path, try an incognito window to separate the effects of cookies, extensions and stored site data. Clearing cookies may sign you out, so make sure you have your authentication method to hand.

2. Try A Different Resolver If 1.1.1.1 Does Not Work

If to change Chrome DNS made no difference, try Google (Public DNS) in Chrome’s provider list, where the browser offers it. After each change, open a new tab, verify which resolver is active, then retry the website. Change one thing at a time so you know what made the difference.

The address 1.0.0.1 is Cloudflare’s backup resolver when you configure DNS by IP address at device or router level. Do not paste that IP into Chrome’s DoH URL field. If another resolver and mobile data both fail, the cause may lie outside name resolution entirely.

3. Change DNS At The Operating System Or Router

Chrome’s DNS setting does not necessarily change the resolver for MT4, MT5, cTrader or other applications. If several programs on the same machine report server lookup failures, check the DNS on the Windows/macOS connection. On a home network, whoever administers it can configure DNS on the router so every device shares the setting.

Before editing, record the DNS addresses currently in use. After saving, disconnect and reconnect the network and test each application. If only the IC website fails while the trading platforms work normally, changing the router DNS is probably premature.

4. Use The IC Markets App Or Whichever Platform Is Working

While the website is failing, open the IC Markets app you already have installed, or find it from the official IC Mobile App page. IC describes account management, deposits, transfers and support through the app; the Google Play listing for com.icmarkets.mobileapp also mentions uploading documents and submitting withdrawal requests. Store listings and display names can change by region and over time.

If the IC Markets app opens, check your balance and the status of any deposit or withdrawal request inside it. If MT4, MT5 or cTrader still receives quotes, manage your positions there — do not close a trade just because the website will not open. Conversely, if the trading app has also lost connection, try mobile data and contact support to verify the incident.

The account management app and the MT4/MT5/cTrader apps may be separate applications. Pick the right tool for what you need: profile management, funding, or working with orders. If you want to see the differences before opening another account, compare IC Markets trading fees by account type.

5. Contact Support Through A Verified Channel

If IC Markets blocked applies on every network you try, or you can reach neither the website nor the app, use the support channel inside the app you already installed, an email saved from a previous interaction, or contact details on the official site you have verified. Describe the time of the error, your provider, the Chrome message, and whether MT4/MT5 is still receiving quotes.

Ask two specific things: whether the website or client area is under maintenance, and which login address IC currently directs you to use. Never send a password, an OTP or photos of identity documents to an account claiming to be support over messaging.

Fake Site Warning When Searching For A “New IC Markets Link”

Fake site warning while IC Markets is blocked: lookalike domains are easily mistaken for the official page
While searching for a new IC Markets link, results can include lookalike domains very close to the real one.

The move to the shorter “IC” name makes it easier to run into near-identical results. When you cannot access IC Markets, the biggest risk while hunting for an alternative route is entering your details on a fake website.

Official Domains And Addresses Already Flagged

Type of addressExample and how to read it
The new website announced by ICic.com is the new domain per IC’s migration announcement
The former websiteicmarkets.com was the domain before the move to ic.com; check the final address after any redirect
Addresses to verify against your account regionLogin pages or regional domains: use them only when you were directed there from the official website or a verified support channel
Websites named in an FCA clone warningicmarketpro.com, icm-market.com, i-cmarketz.com, ic-forexmarket.com, icmarketspartners.com

The FCA published the addresses in the last row in a warning about an entity impersonating IC Markets. IC Markets EU has its own security notice about fraudulent websites. Both show why you need to check each specific address, rather than trusting a page because it carries a logo or the words “IC Markets”.

Do not infer that every domain containing icmarkets is official, or that every domain other than ic.com is fake: IC operates websites and regional areas by legal entity. For your own account, start from an official announcement, an app you have verified, or a support channel you have used before.

Rules For Safe Access

Before logging in, read the entire domain in the address bar; an HTTPS padlock on its own does not prove the page belongs to IC. Do not enter an OTP from a link received in a chat group, a search advert or a message claiming to be the “new link”. If you have already entered details on a suspicious page, change the password through an official channel and contact support immediately. It is worth reviewing the signs of a forex broker scam as well.

If you use the service through Backcom, open the Backcom IC Markets page from a bookmark you saved yourself to find the programme details and the link Backcom provides. Always check the destination domain before logging in, and compare any cashback entitlement against the terms published on the programme page.

Frequently Asked Questions About IC Markets Blocked

Is It Safe To Change Chrome DNS To 1.1.1.1?

It is a built-in Chrome feature and Cloudflare publishes configuration documentation. Select the provider directly in the browser settings rather than installing an unfamiliar extension just to switch resolver. Changing DNS does not give Cloudflare access to your trading account, but it also will not protect you if you type a password into a fake website. Verify the domain before you log in.

Does DNS 1.1.1.1 Slow Down Order Execution?

Secure DNS set in Chrome serves the browser’s name resolution; it does not directly change the server configuration of MT4, MT5 or cTrader. Execution quality also depends on the connection to the servers and on several other factors. If the trading app feels laggy, check the connection status inside that app and try another network, rather than attributing everything to DNS.

Does IC Markets Blocked Affect My Funds And Open Positions?

A website that will not open does not mean your balance or positions have disappeared. Orders are managed inside the trading system, so check the actual status in MT4, MT5, cTrader or the account app. If the trading platform has also lost connection and you have a position that needs handling urgently, switch network and then contact support through a verified channel.

Does The IC Markets App Work When The Website Fails?

It may, depending on what is causing the fault and on the app’s own connection. IC presents the IC Markets app for account management tasks, and the app page describes deposit and withdrawal functions. That is not a promise that the app always works when the website does not. Open the app you have installed, test mobile data, and confirm the status of any request inside the app itself.

icmarkets.com Fails But ic.com Works — Is It Blocked?

Not necessarily. IC announced that the website moved from icmarkets.com to ic.com in July 2026. If the new address opens normally, type ic.com directly, update your bookmark and retry in a new tab. Only continue diagnosing DNS or your provider if the new address also errors — especially if the result differs between Wi-Fi and mobile data.

Conclusion

When IC Markets blocked appears, or the site reports an access error, start by typing ic.com correctly and comparing Wi-Fi against mobile data. If the signs point to DNS, follow the steps above to access IC Markets using secure DNS in Chrome; if it still fails, check the app, the trading platform, and contact IC through a verified channel. Cashback users can find the programme details at Backcom IC Markets — and should check the destination address carefully before logging in.
